-How To Pick the Right Wedding Photographer-
By: Nick Kuchar, Blue Nalu Photography
Whether you are in Oahu, Hawaii, South Carolina or planning a destination wedding across the world, picking a wedding photographer is an important decision... it can also be a very tough decision! Rachel and I say that you should hire a photographer that you really click with. Because after all, the more comfortable you are in front of the camera, the better the images will be! There are great questions to ask when you are meeting with photographers...
"what style of photography do you shoot" - We try not to tie ourselves down to any particular style. Some of our photography has been described as photojournalism, some is fashion inspired, and some is fine art. The more creative the better! You definitely want to pick a photographer that jives with your style.
"what kind of products do you offer" -Are you looking for something unique like custom designed albums? Fun/ Romantic/ Hi-Fashion/ "insert-adjective-here" photos? It's a great idea to view samples of what the photographer offers, whether it be through an online store, or in person. We love offering unique cool products such as metallic prints, linen textures, canvas gallery wraps and much more!
"how does the photographer conduct business at the wedding" - Rachel and I pride ourselves in being unobtrusive in our wedding day coverage. In fact, we love it when people don't notice us, because we can capture true emotion in candid shots! Most people prefer wedding photographers that dress professionally and conduct themselves in a friendly, professional manner on the day of the wedding.... and any other day for that matter :)
